STAGE 2 COMPLAINT INVESTIGATIONS

ISWnorthwest can undertake Stage 2 Investigations for Local Authorities. As the Lead Investigating Officer, ISWnorthwest can provide an independent and impartial investigation into a complaint made by an individual against a Local Authority. This could be a Looked After Child, a parent, a foster carer or an adopter who feels that the decision making and service provided by a Local Authority was not acceptable.  The initial complaint will be investigated by the Local Authority in-house team. However, if this is not resolved satisfactorily, then the complainant has the right to progress the matter to an external Stage 2 complaint.

ISWnorthwest will undertake a thorough investigation into the complaint. This will include interviewing all parties involved; reading all case records, contacting any external individuals who could assist in providing their knowledge of the case. All evidence will be analysed and compiled into a detailed report outlining all findings and recommendations against each element of the complaint to advise if the complaint is upheld or not.
